A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended our Double-Feature fundraising event (featuring This Is How I Roll and Burlesque Assassins) on August 17th! We would also like to thank the guys at The Plaza for opening their theatre to us and making sure everything went smoothly as well as a special thank you to Jonathan Joffe and his Burlesque Assassins!

And as if the fabulous Friday double-feature event wasn’t enough, we also want to thank everyone who attended, volunteered, played, and officiated our Double-Double event on Saturday, August 18th! This was our last home bout of the year and each and every one of you made it a fantastially memorable event! Thank you!

We would like to send out a GINORMOUS thank you to Edmonton’s River City Riot and Invermere’s Killer Rollbots for making the journey to Calgary to take on our teams!

A special thank you goes out to Titans Twisted Tavern for providing us with an awesome venue for our afterparty!

Oh yeah, lastly, we are ecstatic to report that both your Glenmore Reservoir Dogs AND your Kill Jills took the win on Saturday night. The Dogs smashed the Riot with score of 268 to 73 and the Jills ousted the Rollbots 271 to 187. Both games were exhilarating and made for a PERFECT end to our season!

The season might be over, but that doesn’t mean things for Chinook City are winding down. Check back soon for more upcoming events!

On Saturday, the Kill Jills were in Lethbridge to take on the Deathbridge Derby Dames! From the very first whistle, it was a nailbiter! In the end, by a sliver of a margin, the Kill Jills took the win – 124 to 123! It was an amazing game for both teams and the Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild sure knows how to put on an EPIC afterparty! The Jills can not wait to have the Dames to Calgary next year for a rematch!

And just a reminder that, Chinook City is presenting an amazing double-header film screening of Jon Joffe’s Burlesque Assassins (Director will be in attendance!) and This Is How I Roll, The Story of Guys Who Want To Hit Like Girls, on August 17th at The Plaza! Tickets are $15 and include a private reception (including some live burlesque entertainment!) after the films.

Also! This Saturday, August 18th, is our last home bout of the Season and its a double-header! First up, the Dogs will be hosting Edmonton’s River City Riot. Then, the Jills are taking on Invermere’s Killer Rollbots. Tickets are $10! And remember, kids 10 years and under get in free.

SPECIAL DEAL! If you wanna attend BOTH the double-feature and the double-header, you can get tickets to both super-rad events for only $22!

You can score tickets for both events from any Chinook City member!

Tickets are $15 and include a private reception after the films.
