We have changed the focus of our practices starting this month! EVERYONE is encouraged to attend all of the time slots and drop-in is only $10.00.
Mondays from 9:00-10:30 is a TACTICAL PRACTICE which works on strategy and game play. Location: NESS (Don Hartman Arena)
Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00pm is a TECHNICAL PRACTICE which develops skate skills and other foundational elements. Whether you’re a new skater looking to benchmark, or an advanced skater who wants to perfect the one-foot hockey stop, this is for you. Location: Beltline Gym and Aquatic Center
Saturdays from 8:00-10:00pm is a LEARNING SCRIMMAGE! This is your opportunity to put your new strategies and skills into practice! All welcome, especially officials! Location: West Hillhurst Community Association.

Just a note that our New Skater Session that was on Sunday from 8:30am to 10:00am at Beltline Aquatic & Fitness Centre, 221 12 Ave SW, has been moved to Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm but is still at Beltline Aquatic & Fitness Centre. Come on out and enjoy, our intake is ongoing so you can join anytime.
We also want to welcome our very own Sparkle Motion in her newest role with Chinook City Roller Derby League as the league’s new Head of Skater Development. Sparkle will oversee and mentor our coaching staff, provide feedback to coaches and skaters, provide training programming, and scheduling for coaches.

We have won the bid to host the second Men’s Roller Derby World Cup right here in Calgary, Alberta and we are very excited to be hosting!
The 2016 Men’s Roller Derby World Cup takes place July 21-24, 2016 at the Acadia Recreation Complex in southwest Calgary. Twenty men’s teams from around the world, comprised of the world’s best male skaters, will descend on Calgary to compete for the World Cup.
This World Cup will be second World Cup competition for men’s roller derby (the first took place in Birmingham, England, in 2014). Team USA, Team England and Team Canada placed first, second and third respectively out of a 16 team field at this event.
Early bird tickets for the 2016 Men’s Roller Derby World Cup go on sale July 14, 2015.
